Dr. William Jungman

Dr. Jungman is a San Diego County native and second-generation dentist who graduated from San Diego State University and USC Dental School before establishing Citracado Dental in Escondido with his wife and dental partner, Dr. Julie Kangas. His extensive professional involvement includes volunteering at UCSD student-run dental clinics, participating in two humanitarian missions aboard the USNS Mercy hospital ship in the South Pacific, mentoring pre-dental students throughout San Diego County, serving as the professional pre-dental advisor for CSUSM, and working as consulting dentist for local senior centers. Recently recognized as an Inaugural Fellow in the American Academy of Oral & Systemic Health, he focuses his continuing education on sleep apnea disorders and the connections between oral and systemic health.

Beyond his dental practice, Dr. Jungman has dedicated his adult life to community service, serving on boards for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego and Boy Scouts of America, earning Escondido's Service to Youth award, and sponsoring BSA Cub Scout Pack 659. His personal interests include travel, woodworking, hunting, fishing, collecting San Diego antique memorabilia, and mentoring young people, while he and Dr. Kangas proudly parent four sons—two of whom are dentists at Citracado, with the others in engineering and software development—all living in Escondido along with their granddaughters and daughters-in-law.

Dr. Julie E. Kangas

Dr. Julie E. Kangas grew up in Idaho, graduated from Boise State University with a BS in Health Science, and met her husband Dr. Jungman at USC dental school before establishing their family practice in Escondido. Specializing in cosmetic dentistry and care for anxious patients for over 25 years, she's been a certified Invisalign provider for fifteen years and focuses on oral-systemic health connections, earning recognition as one of only 30 dentists nationwide to receive an Inaugural Fellow award from the American Academy of Oral and Systemic Health. Active in community leadership, she served as founding member and president of Escondido's American Business Women's Association chapter, was named American Business Woman of the Year in 2008, and remains involved with the Greater Escondido Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador and board member. She and Dr. Jungman are the first husband-wife dentists inducted into the American Academy of Dental Practice, support various community programs including Cub Scout Pack 659, and are proud parents of four adult sons, two of whom are dentists, while she enjoys skiing, travel, word games, and hosting the San Diego Boise State fan club.

Dr. Robert Jungman

Dr. Robert Jungman earned his bachelor’s degree at UC San Diego and DDS degree at UCLA. He pursued an additional 1-year Advanced Education program in General Dentistry at UCLA, exposing him to more advanced techniques and procedures in all aspects of dentistry, including implants and complex rehabilitation cases. He has been in practice at Citracado since 2012 and offers a wide range of general dentistry procedures, with a special focus on dental implants and patients with more complex needs. These can include those with missing teeth, cosmetic changes, unique dental problems, and patients needing multiple crowns. He is an avid user of modern dental technology and pursues well over 100 hours every year of continuing dental education, which has earned him the Mastership Award in the Academy of General Dentistry (achieved by less than 2% of all dentists).

Dr. Nick Jungman

Dr. Nick Jungman, third son of Drs. Randy Jungman and Julie Kangas, and younger brother to Dr. Robert Jungman, is proud to join the family business. He attended San Pasqual High School in Escondido and received a BS in Biochemistry at CSU San Marcos. He then attended The University of Southern California in Los Angeles for his DDS degree, following in his parents’ footsteps.

Dr. Nick chose to study for another year in Santa Barbara, CA at a residency program for Advanced Education in General Dentistry, where he learned more advanced dental techniques and procedures. Dr. Nick enjoys constantly learning more about dentistry and is happy to work with all ages, including younger patients, as he likes to educate on preventive care and creating a friendly, welcoming dental environment to keep the dental office a place of continuous health.

During his time at USC and since graduating, he has attended dental missions to help those in real need of dentistry. Prior to the pandemic, he attended an annual dental mission trips to Rosarito, Mexico and overseas with the Ayuda mission program. Through this partnership, he had the fortune to provide dental care in Thailand, India, and Panama. He enjoys using his bilingual (Spanish) skills frequently both at home and abroad.

Dr. anna Gute

Dr. Anna Gute graduated from the Rigas Stradins University in Latvia with her initial dental degree. During her dental career in Latvia, she mostly focused on special-needs patients and also served as a Professor’s Assistant in the department of Oral Pathology at Riga Stradins University. In 2016, she enrolled in the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC, a program for international dentists, where she gained valuable training that enabled her to practice in the United States. She specializes in treating complex cases involving oral surgery, restoring damaged or missing teeth with implants and cosmetic dentistry. One of her passions is to help patients who have orofacial myofunctional disorders with neuromodulators such as Botox or Xeomin. Dr. Gute is focused on improving one’s complete well-being and beauty.
